Safety course: Green Chemistry, Environmental Management and Sustainable Development (GASS)
Students who need access to the laboratories of the aforementioned CCS must complete the full training course on Workplace Health and Safety (MEDIUM RISK) before starting any laboratory activity. The training consists of two online courses:
A – General Training Course (4 hours)
B – Specific Safety Training Course – Medium Risk (8 hours)
Both courses are online and must be completed before accessing any laboratory.
Students who have already completed both of the above courses (even from previous editions) and have obtained the corresponding certificates can disregard this notice, but must present the certificates upon request.
Students who have attended similar courses must send a scanned copy of the certificate for evaluation of compliance to the email address: prevsic@uniupo.it.
Instructions to access the courses are available in the files attached to the relevant page.
Before starting laboratory work, students must also receive confirmation from the Internship Office or internal tutor that all necessary requirements have been fulfilled.

Course A – General Training on Workplace Health and Safety (4h)
Objectives
The course provides detailed knowledge of the organizational structure of workplace safety, the concepts of risk, damage, prevention, and related behaviors, to safeguard one's own and colleagues’ health and safety (in compliance with Article 37, paragraph 2 of Legislative Decree 81/08, according to the State-Regions Agreement effective from 26/01/2012).
Structure

Composed of 7 modules plus an introductory module

Sequential access: each module must be completed to unlock the next

Each module (except Intro and Module 7) includes a Self-Assessment Test, which must be passed with at least 80% correct answers to proceed

No grading from tutors; repeated attempts are encouraged for better understanding

At the end, a Final Learning Test with 24 questions (75% correct = at least 18) to pass (can be retaken after 24h)
To validate the course, students must:

Complete all self-assessments

Pass the final test
Upon completion, students can download a PDF certificate confirming their General Training completion. Training is mandatory, and any failure to access the platform must be justified.
Course B – Specific Safety Training – Medium Risk (8h)
Objectives
This course is legally required and essential to operate safely in office and chemical/biological lab environments. It supplements the General Training (Course A).

Sequential access: each module must be fully completed to unlock the next

Every module includes a Self-Assessment Test, with an 80% pass threshold to proceed

Includes a Final Learning Test with 40 questions (75% correct = at least 30) to pass, within 45 minutes (can be retaken after 24h)
To validate the course, students must:

Read/download all module PDFs

Complete the self-assessment quizzes

Pass the final exam
Once all requirements are fulfilled, students can download a PDF certificate of Specific Training – Medium Risk. As per regulations, this training is mandatory, and failure to access must be justified.
